History of Traditional Oriental Medicine


Traditional oriental medicine (?TCM?) originated in China more than 3,000 years ago. It includes several different modalities including, but not limited to, herbal medicine, acupressure, acupuncture, electrical stimulation, Gua Sha, cupping, ion pumping, moxibustion, Tui-Na Massage and Shoni Shin. These techniques are taught and used all over the world today. They are a safe, pain free and effective treatment for numerous diseases, syndromes and ailments. The World Health Organization has created a list of diseases/ailments that are effectively treated with acupuncture*, some of which are listed below:
